The mysterious handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga spoiled relationship between the former and DP William Ruto, it has emerged.
Visibly unsettled, the DP has been leading onslaught against the president through his proxies further escalating tension within government.
Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo on Wednesday sensationally claimed that sidelining of Ruto from the deal may have made him bitter.
"Truth be told. They are not together at all. He is speaking from different script while the president is firmly supporting the handshake. This is where the problem is.
"Let Uhuru get Ruto, bring him on board and continue explaining to him the relevance of the handshake. But if that doesn't happen, Ruto will continue causing chaos that could even sabotage service delivery," he said.
A group of MPs allied to Ruto have openly accused the President of plotting to shortchange the DP further causing restless political upheavals within Mt Kenya region.
While the DP had often reiterated that he supports the handshake, he has however been a little bit cautious, accusing Raila Odinga of using it to elbow him out of succession politics.
And Kabogo says Ruto's anger may cause confusion should the president fail to bring him to the table and shade more light on the content of the handshake.
