Former Starehe MP aspirant Boniface Mwangi has told opposition chief Raila Odinga to honourably retire from politics because he has lost his chance of becoming president in Kenya.
Mwangi who has of recent turned into a great critic of the former prime minister says Raila has lost four consecutive presidential elections and stands no chance of becoming commander in chief.
"Raila Odinga has 'lost' four presidential elections 1997, 2007, 2013, 2017!" Mwangi said in a Saturday tweet.
"Don’t field a perennial loser Raila Odinga and expect to win. Change strategy. Also, Raila's record as an MP is pathetic. Raila should support a winning candidate and Governor Kivutha Kibwana is president."
Mwangi was responding to a tweet in which ODM blogger Disembe had questioned why Mwangi is supporting the presidency of Makueni Governor Prof Kivutha Kibwana well knowing that the county chief is older than Raila.
Disembe had said in his tweet: "Boniface Mwangi now wants Governor Prof. Kibwana to be president. Has completely forgotten Kibwana is older than Raila, whom he had been bashing to 'retire'. Also, [he] no longer remembers Kibwana was Kibaki’s adviser at a time PNU was high up in scuttling the very idea of devolution."
Raila has not publicly declared that he will contest for the presidency in 2022 although Siaya Senator James Orengo says the former Langata MP may be on the ballot.
