Garissa county assembly speaker Ahmed Ibrahim Abss is staring at an impeachment motion over alleged gross violations.
In a motion set to be tabled by the Dadaab MCA Hon Aboo who also doubles as the assembly's minority leader, several county legislators have vowed to back the MCA in his bid.
Aboo who enjoys a massive support in the house accuses the speaker of violating the constitution by failing to assume his functions as expected.
The Dadaab representative further accused the speaker of allowing the executive to freely transact their business in a way that hurts service delivery in the county.
"It will not be business as usual. We must responsibly use our offices to serve the entire county. No individual is better or lesser than others," said the legislator who declined to disclose more on the motion.
The speaker is also alleged to have employed his close relatives in the crucial departments of the county and regularly absconding duties for private businesses, a fact that has largely paralysed house businesses.
