There is no more debate on whether slain Rongo University student Sharon Otieno was carrying Migori County Governor Okoth Obado’s baby.
This is after a DNA test confirmed that the seven-month old foetus was Obado’s.
The foetus was a boy. It was killed after a stab wound on her mother's womb which penetrated up to him.
Sharon suffered eight stabs which led to massive bleeding.
The science of DNA traces the biological father or mother of a child by tracing deoxyribonucleic acid, a self-replicating material which is present in living organisms as the main constituent of chromosomes.
It is the carrier of genetic information.
This is the sample that was extracted from Obado and it matched that of the baby 99.99.
“There are 99.99+pc more chances that Zacharia Okoth Obado is the biological father of the donor of the DNA generated from the foetus, that is Sharon Belyne Otieno’s child,” a statement by government analysts said.
