William Kabogo is re-emerging as one of the most outspoken politicians despite his ouster in the 2017 general elections.
He lost his gubernatorial seat to Ferdinand Waititu but now seems rejuvenated like never before and could be eyeing the national level politics.
On Wednesday night during Citizen TV's JKLive show, Kabogo was asked to give his views on whether he could defeat those perceived as the top contenders in President Uhuru Kenyatta's succession politics.
Kabogo confidently admitted that it is possible he could floor Deputy President William Ruto in an election but not sure about the outcome should he face opposition leader Raila Odinga.
He said it is possible he can beat Ruto in an election, dismissing the perception that politicians were scared about DP Ruto.
When asked whether he could defeat the ODM leader, he was cautious and skeptical, saying; "there are things baba can beat me in, there are things I would really shaft him in."
In recent days, Kabogo has been seen to have softened his stance against Ruto.
Some pundits have argued that he would be a perfect pair for the DP's bid to succeed President Uhuru in 2022.
He was quick to dismiss former Jubilee Party vice-chair David Murathe when he declared that DP Ruto should prepare to exit the political scenes alongside Uhuru as he shall have served a maximum of two terms spelt out by the Constitution.
