"I was promoted to serve the whole country but, my home counties (Kisii and Nyamira) won't be left behind. I will ensure more development projects are launched and completed in time for the benefit of our people," he said.

Matiang'i warned Gusii leaders against divisive politics saying he will unfriend such politicians.

"I will not make any friendship with leaders engaging in retrogressive politics. We must all unite and work as a team for the sake of developing the entire Gusii region," he added.

Matiang'i appealed to Nyamir Governor John Nyagarama and Kisii Governor James Ongwae to prioritize development.

"Nyagarama and Ongwae must lead by example and engage MCAs to come up with various projects across the two counties. I want to see leaders working to actualize their development promises," said Matiang'i.
