A middle aged man in Gesabakwa Kisii County hacked to death his brother to death on Monday after a disagreement ensued between them over a phone.
It is alleged that the suspect identified as Omanga hit his brother using a blunt object in the head accusing him for stealing his phone.
Neighbors said the suspect came to their home from Keroka where he works on Sunday.
“Omanga works in Keroka, he had come home to visit his mother. We heard him quarreling with his brother over a phone. After the deceased failed to produce the phone, the suspect hit him with a blunt object in the head. Thier mother screamed to attract other neighbors who arrived and found the deceased lying down unconscious,” said Ben Onkoba.
Onkoba said residents attacked the suspect with kicks and blows but luckily he was rescued by Nyumba Kumi officials who surrendered him to Ramasha police station.
He said the deceased died while he was being rushed to hospital.
