Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i on Saturday appealed to Christians to stop being 'hypocrites'.
According to him, Christians should live honest lives arguing that breaking of church rules and commandments hinders unity within the church.
"As Christians, we should not be hypocrites. We need to live honest lives and stop breaking church rules to pretend everything is okay. The Lord will be angry with us is we don't live befitting lives as Christians," he said.
Further, Matiang'i challenged Christians to keep off divisive politicians who are out to seek political relevance by spreading propaganda and hate speech.
He called on church leaders not to condone politics in the churches adding that the church should be the last place for politicians to politic.
"Politicians should go to church purposely to worship and not playing politics. Church leaders should not allow any political leader to talk politics in the church," he stated.
Matiang'i said Nyamira and Kisii residents should embrace peace, unity give humble time for elected leaders to deliver.
He was speaking on Saturday after attending a church service in Borabu constituency in Nyamira County.
