Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua surprised residents when he held a meeting at the Machakos People’s Park instead of his office on Thursday.
Mutua took to social media to express his gratitude to the residents and his government's officials for backing his leadership.
He said they discussed a number of issues about his government for better service delivery.
The meeting was attended by the county's CEC Health Ruth Mutie Mutua, advisor on health Dr. Ancent Kituku Nzioka and Chief Officer for Public Health Lucas Mwove, among other officials.
Mutua said the officials briefed him on different matters.
“They briefed me on the strategy adopted to ensure we have sufficient health community volunteers who would routinely visit all households. We also deliberated on ways to make Machakos health services the best in Kenya,” Mutua said.
He also acknowledged the serene environment at the People’s Park.
Mutua welcomed residents to the Machakos People's Park during this festive season.
“It was a relaxing meeting under the beautiful Machakos sky, seated on benches under a tree surrounded by manicured lawns and beautiful flowers as the birds of the air flew in formations above our heads. I literally felt my mind opening up as we made plans at the park,” he said.
