She attributes all her success to hard work and trust in God.

After failing to continue with her education due to lack of school fees, Cecilia decided to explore other opportunities in Eldoret town. She had been forced to drop out of school along with other siblings not only for lack of school fees but also for her parents' inability to appreciate the importance of education.

"My parents were not interested in providing education, especially for a girl child," Cecilia told hivisasa.com.

With her education dreams shattered, Cecilia decided to start a charcoal and milk selling business at Kimumu trading centre in 2004. It is during this time that she created a good relation with Salon ladies where she managed to learn some skills in the sector.

In 2008, Cecilia and a group women opened a salon in Eldoret town. They saved some cash and never stopped there. For her, she had a dream of venturing into the lucrative the decoration sector.

Through the help of friends, Cecilia learned about decorations, especially for weddings, pre-wedding and also burials. It is through salon and help of her mother that she bought decoration materials and moved to a better house.

"I wanted to try my luck, I borrowed my mother some money and added my salon savings. After buying materials I had to seek for a market," she noted.

She took advantage of the ever-expanding social media to gain more market for her new decoration business.

Currently, Cecilia is a household name in decoration work, all thanks to the salon business. The business has enabled her to buy a small piece of land within Eldoret town and she is hoping to build a house soon.

"God provides, one should believe in him/herself and explore opportunities. Not all of us were born to be doctors but independent in our own ways. Keep working," Cecilia, a staunch member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Kimumu advised.
