It is reported that the 25-year-old defender is set to sign a 2-year-contract next week with Batoto ba Mungu, after turning down an offer to extend his stay with the AS Kigali.

After a successive season with the AS Kigali, where they finished second with five points shy of leaders APR Rwanda; Kayumba noted that he was looking forward to having a feel of the Kenya Premier League and also play together with his compatriot Justin Mico.

"I hope to finalize the deal with Sofapaka, for they are a great team and I hope to improve my football with them. Yes, I had other offers but Sofapaka vision impressed me," said Kayumba

The move means, that AFC Leopards and Tusker who had also shown interest in the defender will miss out in the deal that would have reinforced their defenses that has leaked over time.
