Ambira High School students captured in a viral video insulting Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i and his education counterpart Amina Mohammed will now have to face the full wrath of the law, President Uhuru Kenyatta has reiterated.
School principal Thomas Odhiambo identified positively eight candidates involved in the incident in which they also bragged about cheating in exams despite tight security.
At State House on Saturday, Uhuru said the students are 'where they should be', adding that he will not tolerate cases of indiscipline among teenagers.
"We are deploying two teachers per county from TSC to coordinate scouting. They will instill discipline on youngsters. We don't want to see cases such as those we are seeing.
"Those boys are where they should be. We cannot continue tolerating indiscipline. You must respect your elders. Let them face the law," roared Uhuru.
Inspector General Joseph Boinet revealed that three of the students had been arrested by Ugunja police while the other five are still at large.
The eight students had completed their paper Thursday before burning books and hurling insults at the two officials due to their high handedness in the exams.
"Three of the are in police custody and we are pursuing five others. They will definitely be arrested," Boinet told journalists.
