It now emerges that the National Integrated Management System (NIMS) registration, popularly known as Huduma Namba has a section of an unanswered question.

This is largely to do with polygamous Kenyans, especially those with more than five wives, as the registration application papers only allow up to five spouses.

This has raised questions on what men with more than five wives are expected to do to have all of them recognised others claiming that they should pick two forms.

The registration exercise kicked off on March 2 by President Uhuru Kenyatta, who led the way by being registered under the new digital system in Machakos County.

Opposition leader Raila Odinga also declared his support and was registered in Mombasa County as other opposition leaders and government officials followed suit.

The biometric registration system seeks to help the government store and manage Kenya's population data and also ease the burden of having many documents.

So far, 15 counties are being targeted in the ongoing pilot program, these being Busia, Nairobi, Nakuru, Machakos, Kisumu, Kisii, Kilifi, Embu and Wajir.

Kenyans from the age of six and foreigners living in the nation are among the targeted persons, reports the Standard.

However, the limiting spouse issue is one that is promising to cause a debate in the near future, once many Kenyans detect the 'mistake'.
