Teachers and students of Sankuri Secondary school were on Friday treated to a rare Iftaar dinner sponsored by Garissa Woman Representative Anab Subow Gure.
Taking to her social media page to post photos of the dinner, Gure thanked the school's administration for allowing her to spread the spirit of gifting even as Ramadhan fast gets to its last half.
Gure reiterated her commitment to supporting the school, revealing the learning institution has in the past benefited from bursaries and scholarships programs.
"Sankuri secondary school is among the many schools that benefited from my bursary and scholarships programs. I promised to increase the number of beneficiaries so that we reduce the burden on parents," she stated.
For close to two weeks now, Garissa county leadership has been brightening the lives of the less fortunate by donating foodstuff in line with the provisions of Ramadhan fast. The spirit of gifting is expected to continue until early June when the period will come to an end.
Barely a week ago, Governor Ali Korane also extended his generous heart to several local institutions including Garissa barracks, Garissa KMTC where he donated dates for the Muslim faithful.
