In many countries, those who fall out of favour with the military never ascend to the presidency no matter how popular they are.
That is why Dr William Samoei Ruto should be worried about the set changes in the country’s military command centre.
The term of Chief of Defense Forces (CDF) Samson Mwathethe expired on Wednesday last week and therefore changes are expected in the unit.
This will come if sooner if President Uhuru Kenyatta does not extend the term of Mwathethe for another year as the KDF act gives him powers to do so.
