Juliet Charity Njoki wants a private session with the Milimani Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi to reveal what police allegedly did to her while in custody.

Njoki claims that that she was assaulted and tortured by detectives and she can only expose the wounds in a private session with the court.

On Wednesday, Njoki told Nairobi Milimani Magistrate Francis Andayi that she has injuries on her body including private genitals.

The suspect claimed that she has gone without food for the period she has been in police cells.

She alleged that police squeezed her genitals as they forced her to confess her role in the attempted murder.

"I was tortured and my private parts quizzed causing  me injury while in custody," she told court.

The suspect alleged that the injuries inflicted on her should be reason enough for the court to set her free.

Earlier on, Njoki and Mohamud Hussein Aden pleaded not guilty to charges of planning Mukhtar’s murder.

The two denied conspiring to kill Mukhtar and his lawyer Charles Kanjama.

They were remanded until September 18 when the court will make a ruling on their application for bond and bail.

Detectives say that they are still hunting down more suspects in connection with the attempted murder.

The former CEC attempted murder has elicited sharp reactions with leaders calling on a speedy probe.
