Opposition leader Raila Odinga on Tuesday held a meeting with youth leaders at his Capitol Hill office in Nairobi.
Speaking to journalists after the meeting, the youth leaders vowed to support the renewed war against graft.
Led by Igembe South MP John Paul Mwirigi, the youth said that graft is the root cause of unemployment in the country.
The also youth hailed Raila for backing President Kenyatta's fight against corruption and advocating for unity.
“We are fully behind Baba (Raila) and President Uhuru Kenyatta as they confront corruption,” Murigi said.
The MP asked politicians to stop politicizing the war on corruption, adding that graft culprits are behind their communities to avoid paying for their crimes.
At the meeting, the issue of the country’s unity and inclusivity was also discussed.
The youth leaders said that they fully support the work being done by the Building Bridges Initiative.
“We have submitted out proposals to the handshake committee,” Mwirigi added.
On Monday, Raila met with Rift Valley leaders where he asked them to support the war on corruption.
The former Prime Minister also called for speedy investigation and trial of suspects in graft scandals.
The Jubilee government has renewed war on graft with president Kenyatta saying that no one caught stealing taxpayers money will be spared.
However, a section of politicians allied to Deputy President William Ruto allege that the war against graft is being weaponised against certain individuals and communities.
