Political analyst Barrack Muluka has poked holes into Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho's leadership.
Muluka who doubles up as the Amani National Congress (ANC) party Secretary General holds that Joho's leadership style leaves much to be desired.
Speaking on Monday, Muluka took issue with a recent directive by the Mombasa Governor requiring all building owners within Mombasa City Central Business District (CBD) to repaint their buildings to a specific colour chosen by the county government.
He said that the latter is hiding behind last year's truce between President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga to harass residents.
Muluka claimed that Joho who is a close ally of Raila is taking advantage that the handshake protects him from criticism.
"He is using the handshake to impose his rules on the people. He feels that now that he is on the right side of Uhuru and can have it his way without being challenged," said Muluka.
Muluka said that the directive has infringed on the rights of buildings owned by corporate companies as they will have to paint them in the required blue and white colours.
This, added Muluka, interferes with the identity brands of the companies.
"Through this directive, he has infringed on the rights of building owners with corporate colours," observed Muluka.
Joho is serving his second and last term. He has since expressed his interest in the presidency come 2022.
