Many students in the universities always experience the downs of life ranging from school fees, upkeep money and rent for students residing outside the school premises.

With all these challenges, most of the students always feel like they have reached the end of the road and differ their academics. However, there is good news for differed students at the University of Eldoret (UoE).

Through a proposal by UoE Chief Editor, Iddi Joseph, comrades are planning to launch a Sh50 contribution that will amount to more than a half a million.

“We serve God by serving humanity. Each semester comrades defer due to a number of reasons, weak financial muscles included. Just 10,000 comrades each donating Sh50, that is Sh500,000. What if we all come together? Wait for my invitation to the same,” posted the students' leader on the UOE Comrades Forum, a popular Facebook group for the Chepkoilel-based university.

Motivated by the spirit of togetherness and selflessness, the proposal has been received wholeheartedly by many students.

Here are some of the responses on the matter;

“Greatest idea I have heard the whole of this year. We need more selfless people like you. Just tell us when to start,” said Kelvin Muriuki.

“Great mind our auditor, I like that idea,” posted Nzio Anthony.

Kenyan Luhyabae replied, “Good idea I support it.”

“Good thought. I like the idea,” Richard Oyoo.

Victor Odiwuor opined, ”Soon we will start demanding Iddi to be our student leader.”

“There is also a lot of manual work in chep, comrades can do, on free time like weekends and even earn something for fees and upkeep,” added Felix Nzioki.

The campaign is expected to be officially steered during the launch of the University of Eldoret bogs website and the press club.
