Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has sharply disagreed with ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna over calls that the opposition National Super Alliance (NASA) coalition be disbanded.
Sifuna on Friday told Khalwale who has been at the forefront calling for the disbandment of the opposition outfit to dare dissolve the coalition if he has the authority.
"You claim to be a bullfighter yet you have failed to switch off NASA's life-saving machine. Switch it off. We are waiting for you," Sifuna said in a tweet responding to Khalwale earlier on said.
Khalwale, in a tweet, had said NASA was no more and that Kenyans only need to give the coalition a little more time before it crumbles.
Khalwale had said: "Moses Wetangula said that NASA is moribund. Meaning that it is in a dying state, near death. I agree fully with him and add that it is in the Intensive Care Unit on a life-saving machine which should immediately be switched off to let the thing to be buried."
ODM and Ford Kenya leaders have been engaging in public outbursts over the future of Kenya's largest opposition coalition.
Whereas leaders from ODM insist the coalition won't die anytime soon, those from Ford Kenya say Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula's departure from NASA meant the coalition had collapsed.
