Tiaty Member of Parliament William Kassait Kamket has claimed he is the one who started the referendum calls way back.

In early 2018, the Member of Parliament had drafted a bill that seeks to create a position of executive Prime Minister who will head of government with two deputies with a one-term ceremonial president who serves for 7 years as well as scrapping the Deputy President office.

The legislator claims some people abused him when he stared the constitutional change calls,  what seems to be forming the basis of referendum calls currently.

"When I began the story of the referendum and to change the constitution, some people started abusing me," the MP said.

"Now the same people are now the new Champions, they are the latter-day converts of the constitutional amendment crusade," he added.

The Tiaty MP, however, said he welcomes all those who are joining his call for a referendum.

The legislator branded himself the 'leader of the third liberation of Kenya' after the first liberation from colonial rule and second liberation from a single-party state.

"The third liberation shall be liberation from bad governance, bad laws and tribalism that is why when I went to parliament I said I want to liberate Kenya," The legislator said.
