Bonchari constituency youths have every reason to smile after area MP John Oyioka on Monday announced that Sh1.5 million from the CDF kitty will be used to help them enroll in driving schools.
At Suneka on Monday, Oyioka said he is determined to change the lives of several youths who are jobless in the constituency.
He said the training fees will be paid for the 6,000 youths to get driving skills and licenses.
"Lack of jobs among the youths in Bonchari will be a thing of the past since all youths will be enrolled in the training program for free. The youths once they complete training they will be able to operate as bodaboda riders and drivers," he stated.
Oyioka dismissed claims that money will be lost through the programme, adding that residents should be on the watch out.
"Residents have every right to know how their money is being spent. I will not divert public money to my own pocket. Any CDF official found stealing will face the law," he stated.
He urged youths to register in big numbers to benefit from the free training.
