Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka has warned residents in the constituency against selling their land.
The lawmaker while speaking on Wednesday in the constituency said locals should instead develop their land other than selling it.
"It is important for locals to know that careless selling of land will make them regret in future. I appeal to constituents to consider developing their land instead of selling to people from outside," he said.
The vocal MP allied to Ford Kenya Party said parents should not sell their land to pay school fees for their children arguing that CDF funds should be used instead to educate needy but bright students.
He called on local youths who didn't attain university grades to join local polytechnics.
Onyonka maintained that he will continue prioritising education throughout his tenure as an MP.
He reached out to his opponents begging them to join hands with him to help in serving residents more better.
"This is not time for politics and rivals need to join me in serving constituents. 2022 will come for rivals to try their luck since I will not be running for the MP seat again," he added.
