Two legislators who walked out on President Uhuru Kenyatta during a function in Bomet have asked for forgiveness from the head of state.
Bomet Woman Representative Joyce Korir and Senator Christopher Langat said they are sorry that their move was widely portrayed as disrespect to the head of state which was not their intention.
The two were among a group of legislators who walked out furiously during a presidential function at the Bomet University when they were denied a chance to speak.
The MPs had trained their guns on Governor Joyce Laboso who they accused of trying to muzzle their voices by not inviting them to air their grievances.
The Woman Rep said they are sorry to Uhuru but faulted State House protocol handlers for the mishap.
“We have cleared the air over the protocol row with the President and made him understand that it was not out of disrespect for him,” the MP said.
Bomet Senator Christopher Langat blamed the media for ‘blowing the issue out of proportion’.
“Our protest was blown out of proportion but I have talked to the President and cleared the issue with him,” the senator said.
The two spoke during a function in Kesses constituency on Saturday.
