Harun Mwau is not only an influential politician but one of the most successful businessmen in Kenya.
Mwau once served as Kilome Member of Parliament.
He made a name in the police forces as one of the best sharpshooters in the country.
Mwau's experience in the police force made him earn respect nationally.
The former MP was, however, fired from the police for insubordination after he refused to shave his beard.
Mwau’s life did not come to an end after he lost the job.
He decided to venture into politics.
Mwau is remembered as the first director of the defunct Kenya Anti-Corruption Authority as a position he served from 1997.
He served in the position for only six months.
In March 1999, the then president Daniel Arap Moi replaced him with Justice Aaron Ringera.
Mwau once claimed that the former US President Barack Obama wanted him dead over links to drug trafficking.
“The US never apologises for killing its enemies, real or imagined. They will violate other nations’ airspace and eliminate their targets. The task of justification is left to themselves,” he said dejectedly during a past interview.
