An elected ODM MCA from Gusii region has told off Don Bosco after he opposed Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i's promotion.
John Ombati, the Bomorenda ward MCA, said Bosco is seeking relevance in politics.
"Matiang'i's hard work earned him a promotion. Some people calling themselves the likes of Bosco should keep off Matiang'i.
We must stand firm and support Matiang'i who has proved to the country that Gusii region has a potential to produce top leaders," said the ward rep.
The vocal MCA argued that Mr. Bosco is chasing his lost fame in politics following the criminals charges he was facing in the neighboring country, Tanzania.
"Bosco should stop using the backdoor to gain his lost popularity. He should join other leaders to send congratulatory messages to Matiang'i," he added.
The ODM allied ward representative said the Gusii community is proud of Matiang'i exemplary work.
"We should not be jealous at Matiang'i's hardly earned promotion. Let us appreciate him, give him necessary support to perform in the new role," noted Ombati.
Ombati lauded President Uhuru Kenyatta for rewarding Matiang'i due to his potential.
