Jane Wanjiku said her son admitted to stealing a neighbour’s phone at Pangani estate.

The minor said he stole the gadget and gave it to his friend.

He was arrested by officers from Bondeni police station.

“Police harassed my son and called him names when we got to the station before locking him up in the cells,” the mother said.

She added that the Saturday incident has left the 12-year-old boy distraught due to the experience he had with adult criminals in the cells.

The kid is a pupil at Shalom New Faith Academy.
