Mombasa Governor, Ali Hassan Joho on Thursday met US Ambassador Kyle McCarter when he paid him a courtesy call in his office.
Through his social media handles, Joho revealed that McCarter paid him a courtesy call and engaged him on different matters that concern the county of Mombasa and the whole nation at large.
Joho intimated that their discussion touched on a number of things which included infrastructural development, countering violent extremism, investment opportunities and other bilateral interests.
The two then talked about the Mombasa-Nairobi express highway that is yet to be commissioned.
The Mombasa Governor stated that there are plans that will see a highway set up between the two cities to facilitate better travel and reduce the number of hours travellers take.
Joho also touched on matters to do with corruption in his county, adding that his government will not lose focus on its war against the vice.
"As a county, we will pull all stops towards the realization of our goals part of which includes a deliberate effort geared towards enhancing the war against corruption and peaceful co-existence amongst communities," read Joho's Facebook post in part.
He concluded that the county government of Mombasa will continue working hand in hand with the US government.
