Former Vice President and NASA coalition deputy party leader, Kalonzo Musyoka has come out publicly and endorsed Governor Sonko's leadership over Nairobi county.
Kalonzo has said that the NASA coalition is fully behind his leadership and will support him in developing Nairobi county.
Kalonzo was speaking in Machakos County while attending the third anniversary of Sonko’s late father Gideon Kioko Mbuvi Kivanguli at Mua Hills.
He urged Nairobi MCAs to avoid divisive politics and should support the Governor.
“Sonko is one of the best performing governors in the country and we in the NASA coalition fully back his leadership. I’m appealing to Nairobi MCAs to shun divisive politics and cooperate with Sonko,” said Kalonzo.
The governor on his part stated that he will forge forward with his development agenda and he will not be distracted by politics.
“So far I have honoured my promises by releasing the Ward Development Fund, Ward bursaries, construction of markets, stadiums and rehabilitation of Nairobi roads. I will continue to serve Nairobians but I won’t be distracted or threatened by impeachment threats,” said the governor while addressing the public during the event.
This comes after threats by MCAs to impeach Governor Sonko.
The MCAs claimed that Sonko runs the affairs of the county from his Mua farm in Machakos.
Other leaders present during the event included Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior (Machakos), Nimrod Mbai (Kitui East), Stephen Mule (Matungulu), Vincent Munyaka (Machakos Town), Simon Mbugua (EALA), among others.
