North Eastern is among region's in the country that Deputy President William Ruto is likely to bank on in his ambition to be the country's 5th president in the 2022 general election.
In the recent months, the Deputy President has made several visits to Garissa, Wajir, Mandera and Marsabit counties launching development projects.
In the past two general elections (2013 and 2017), North Eastern region that previously was allied to opposition voted for Jubilee.
And with the 2022 succession politics taking shape, here are North Eastern politicians who are likely to campaign and support DP Ruto's 2022 bid.

Governor Roba has often told off Ruto's critics, saying they cannot stop an idea whose time has come.
3. Yusuf Haji
The Garissa Senator is serving his second term in office.
The Jubilee Senator is the most experienced politician in North Easter region.
Haji is likely to have a big say on who and how North Eastern region will vote in 2022 election.
The Garissa Senator is likely to push for Ruto's 2022 presidential bid though he has not shown signs or hinted about it.
4. Billow Kerrow
The former Mandera Senator is a voice to reckon with in North Eastern politics.
