The group was reportedly nabbed after crossing into Kenya with their firearms on Saturday, which is contrary to the law.

The four who are being detained at the Busia Police Station were arrested while pursuing a truck with Ugandan registration numbers thay had slready crossed into Kenya.

The truck was carrying rechargeable batteries, according to the Standard.

The officers from the Uganda Revenue Authority found themselves in trouble after allegedly shooting at the truck, without considering that they were in a foreign territory.

Consequently, a meeting has been convened between Ugandan senior police officials and Busia County Commissioner Jacob Narengo to deliberate on the fate of the four.

This becomes the second instance where officers from the Ugandan People Defence Force have been nabbed in Kenya with arms.

Seven months ago, in September 2018, two officers who were pursuing a vehicle that was carrying fish were arrested in a similar manner.
