President Uhuru Kenyatta is set to come face to face with his latest critics Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen and National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale who have accused him of making rash decisions on government policies.
Uhuru will meet the two men on Tuesday after he called for a Parliamentary Group meeting of Jubilee MPs.On Friday, Uhuru met his deputy William Ruto over the ongoing friendly fire within the ruling Jubilee.
Since President Kenyatta shook hands with opposition chief Raila Odinga, there has been disquiet in the coalition which is threatening to split the party.
MPs allied to Ruto have since read mischief from several policies announced by President Uhuru such as the lifestyle audit as well as the war on corruption saying it is skewed to ‘finish’ those close to the DP.
Murkomen recently came under fire after he went public on live TV and claimed there were differences in the party.
He accused a clique of certain people in government who he said is misleading the Kenyatta.
Duale also announced he was ready to quit his position as Majority Leader over his stand on the war against contraband goods.
The vocal MP hit out at Matiang’I and the government for alleged protection of certain cartels in the war.
The Tuesday meeting is expected to iron out issues within the coalition as certain MPs say they will use it to ask Uhuru to declare his stand on Ruto’s 2022 bid for the top seat.
