With President Uhuru Kenyatta’s second term nearing its summit, questions still abound as to who would become the region's next political supremo.

This is despite the fact that the region has produced two presidents - including Mwai Kibaki - and it also has an array of reputable and brilliant leaders in the national political circles.

As it is now though, there is no one who fits the bill to become the next defacto leader for Central Kenya.

Thus, is this a pointer that Uhuru will still hold this position as Mt Kenya's political supremo even after he exits office in 2022?

Coupled by the fact that he will retire at 61 which is relatively a young age in politics, Uhuru still has the charisma and zeal to shape political decisions for his people.

He is a leader who has support in almost all the 47  counties of the republic.

With the handshake effect increasing and the political circus surrounding it, he is gradually getting favour even in once opposition allied zones.

Though it is a fact that a day in politics is enough to witness many changes, it is a reality that Uhuru could still hold huge command on matters politics for Central Kenya even after his exit from office.
