Former Kakamega Senator Dr Bonny Khalwale has given condition to joining the so-called Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) meetings.
In an interview with KTN, the outspoken former legislator said for him to be part of the process, it should be properly conducted.
He said that the members of the steering committee whose names were gazetted by President Uhuru Kenyatta should run the rallies and not politicians
"We would like to and we are going to when the process is properly upheld. What do I mean? I mean that the conveners of the rallies, if we must have rallies, are supposed to be the team of experts," said Khalwale.
Khalwale was among Western Kenya leaders who boycotted the Bukhungu Stadium BBI meeting held last week on Saturday.
He claimed that the meeting was about politics with little to do with the BBI initiative.
The former lawmaker appeared to have taken issue with the fact that not even a single member of the BBI steering was present at the Kakamega rally.
Conveners of the meetings have rubbished claims that the meetings are partisan in nature.
Raila Odinga, the chief exponent of BBI has dismissed the claims saying the initiative is all about posterity and structures that will ensure after him.
The next meeting will be held in the port city of Mombasa where leaders from across the coastal region will attend.
