Jaguar claims that public land grabbing is still  rife  in the city, noting  that it has hindered development.

Speaking in Nairobi on Sunday, the MP said that public land meant for construction of public utilities has been grabbed in Starehe.

“Governor Sonko should continue the war on land grabbers in the city and reclaim public land,” he told journalists after a church service at Prayers Beyond Borders church in Nairobi.

The MP claimed that 70 percent of public land in the city is now in the hands of private developers.

The Jubilee MP  threatened to name and shame wealthy businessmen and politicians behind land grabbing in the city.

He asked Starehe residents and Nairobians to speak out against land grabbing.

Meanwhile, the Starehe MP has lauded the ongoing demolitions of properties standing on riparian land.

He wants the demolitions to be extended  to buildings that have been declared unsafe in Starehe and the larger Nairobi County.
