These are the foods to avoid when one is on malaria treatment:

1. Alcohol and aerated drinks

This is just clear and self-explanatory. Alcohol is associated with many risks. Among the risks is that it worsens malaria. On the other hand, aerated drinks are also dangerous and you should try as much as possible to avoid them when suffering from malaria.

2. Fried foods

These are the favourite dishes among many people and it may be difficult to avoid them. However, it will be such a nice idea if you stop eating them until you are well. These foods are believed to reduce the efficacy of antimalarial drugs. 

3. Sweets such as dessert, cakes and biscuits

These snacks also worsen malaria. It might be irresistible to stop eating them. However, if you must eat them, do so in moderation. 

4. Fat-laden cheese, margarine and butter 

They have a number of benefits to the body. However, in certain instances like when you are suffering from malaria, avoid noshing them for the sake of your health.
