Led by Majority Chief Whip Walter Ogindo, the lawmakers on Tuesday threatened to exit over unending ongoing woes in the house.

The members who are allied to the embattled County Assembly Elizabeth Ayoo noted that the constant wrangles have made it hard to work in the house, terming it pointless to earn a salary for work not done.

Reports on Citizen Digital indicate that the lawmakers said that they will present their resignation letters to the speaker by next week, daring the remaining 38 members to proceed and operate.

They were addressing the press at the assembly where they expressed their readiness to go for a new election to end the power battles.

But Kojwach MCA Joan Ogada, also a member of the team called for the dissolution of the entire house.

Ayoo was last month impeached by the majority members over allegations of gross misconduct and bias, following a new election of house leaders.

She was, however, reinstated by the Kisumu Labour Relations Court, and also sued a number of MCAs for allegedly assaulting her.

The MCAs now want county governor Cyprian Awiti and his deputy Hamilton Orata to assume the mediator role and calm the situation in the house.
