A week after he made remarks pointing at a possible impeachment of Deputy President William Ruto, Siaya Senator continues to be disowned by opposition politicians.
Speaking in Ugenya last weekend, Orengo termed it an easy task ousting Ruto, remarks that have placed the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) on the spot over its growing rivalry with the DP.
But speaking on Saturday morning, ODM Nairobi Chair George Aladwa took issue with people linking the remarks to the party, terming them merely Orengo's opinion.
He added that Orengo cannot be taken to represent the Raila Odinga-led party because no consultations were made regarding the same, noting that all the suspicion being heaped on the party should be directed to the Senator.
"Mambo ya impeachment ni maoni ya Orengo mweneyewe na sio msimamo was ODM ama upinzani. Sisi hatuongei mambo yetu matangani na kule barabarani bali katika mikutano (That is his own opinion and not the party's stand. We only make such decisions after serious meetings and not at public rallies)," said the Makadara MP
He was speaking in an interview on Radio Jambo's Mazungumzo Waziwazi.
He added the fact that Orengo personally made the remarks is another proof that he doesn't have the party's blessings.
Aladwa said that such can only be made by the party's Secretary-General or National Chairperson.
"Sisi tuko na msemaji ambaye ni katibu mkuu wetu ama mwenyekiti wa kitaifa na hao ndio walio na ruhusa ya kuongea kwa niaba ya chama.
(Only our Secretary General or National Chair can address such issues)," he added.
