Embakasi East MP Paul Ongili alias Babu Owino made a rare public appearance with his wife Fridah Ongili on Tuesday during a function in the constituency.

In a thrilling speech, Mrs Ongili hailed her husband for what she called a ' job well done' to constituents, adding that she'd love to see him doing more in future.

She said: "I can here in solidarity with Babu. I want to assure you sweetheart you're doing a good job. Keep it up. I hear contractors calling you and you've always asked them to work on various projects. Thank you."

She also challenged women to put effort on Table Banking groups, adding that they will enable them to prosper social-economically. She said her intentions are to have them empowered.

It was the first time Fridah made public appearances, two years after she was seen in various Police Stations trying to fight for Babu Owino's release.

Mr Owino said: "Top on the agenda was Table Banking.We discussed ways and means of empowering our mothers, wives, sisters and daughters by enhancing table banking in the constituency to ensure more women are reached and in greater more meaningful ways. 

The youthful ODM legilator was first elected to parliament in 2017 and is the leader of the parliamentary caucus for youthful MPs.

Before his election to parliament, he served as Student Union leader of the University of Nairobi. He had served for times, becoming the first student to do so in as many years.
