School heads across Kisii County have been warned against misappropriating public funds meant to improve infrastructure in their schools.
Speaking on Wednesday during the official launch of the disbursement of the fifth edition of the Kisii County Bursary Fund, Kisii Governor James Ongwae challenged school heads to utilize public funds well in boosting infrastructure.
"The tendency of school heads misusing public funds sent to their schools from the CDF kitty at the constituency level must stop. I am appealing to the headteachers to be satisfied with their monthly salaries and use development funds well," said Ongwae at Kisii County headquarters.
He assured that his administration will continue supporting public schools financially to build ECDE classes adding that young kids starting the education journey should learn in a conducive environment.
Ongwae confirmed his commitment to promoting education among Kisii residents saying he is conceptualizing the county scholarship fund to fully cater for the education of selected needy students across the county.
Ongwae vowed to work closely with elected MPs across the county to boost infrastructure in all public schools and urged the elected leaders to visit his office anytime for consultation on matters development in various schools.
