With the presidential contest for the approaching 2022 general elections already picking pace, a similar situation is ongoing at the lower level.
Kenyans are already keenly weighing the promises that were given by their leaders before the concluded elections and the progress on the ground, with many current seat holders likely to end up as victims of their unfulfilled promises in 2022.
A section of these are leaders drawn from Luo Nyanza region, most of whom got into office with the blessings of opposition leader Raila Odinga, some of whom are enlisted below.
1. Fred Ouda
The Kisumu central was elected into office on dramatic measures, after striping naked in protest of insults aimed at Odinga by leaders from the government side.
However, he has since cooled down and is nolonger vocal, remaining silent even after Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen's recent attacks on Odinga and is likely to end up on the receiving end in 2022.
2. Fred Outa
The Kisumu Senator is another leader who will have an uphill task defending his seat in 2022, after forgetting his mandate and spending most of his time battling his supposed enemies in Kisumu.
Also likely to vie for the Kisumu gubernatorial seat in the same year, he is almost assured of a loss to Governor Anyang' Nyongo who was recently ranked the best among county chiefs manning the three Kenyan cities.
3. Onyango K'oyoo
He is the parliamentarian for Muhoroni, who despite being on his second term, has failed to intervene in the sugarcane farmers' woes in the sugar belt region.
He has also done close to nothing to better the lives of his rice farming constituents and the recurent flooding in the region.
