Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has revealed that the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga is in 'jeopardy'.
The vocal jubilee MP said that he is an avid supporter of the handshake as well as Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) where he presented his views on Friday when the BBI committee was in Kiambu county.
"I am an avid supporter of the handshake and the Building Bridges Initiative. On Friday I presented my views to the BBI in Kiambu," read Moses Kuria's message on Facebook.
Moses Kuria further admitted that despite his support for both handshake and BBI, the people of Mt Kenya region gave a clear message that they are not for the handshake.
"So yesterday (Sunday) was a sad for me at the Ruiru Stadium concert. The people of my region sent me with a clear message. They do not want anything to do with the handshake.
They fervently oppose it and are vehemently fighting it. We can not give up just yet. We have to work harder to convince them that the handshake is a good thing for our future," further noted Moses Kuria.
Moses Kuria's revelation comes amid the 'tension' in jubilee over 2022 succession as a number of the DP's allies continue to question Raila's intention.
