Lawyer Miguna Miguna who is based in Canada has now moved to court to sue 25 top Kenyan officials.
According to Miguna, the officials confiscated his passport and illegally forced him out of the country after handling him with cruelty.
The officials include the Interior CS Fred Matiang'i, Attorney General Paul Kihara, Transport CS James Macharia, former Inspector General of Police James Boinnet, DCI boss George Kinoti among others.
He says their actions have hindered him from working, earning a living and supporting his family and that the violations and breaches of his rights and freedoms have also denied him basic human dignity.
The barrister contended that the defendants had despised the court ruling of different judges including Chacha Mwita, George Odunga, Luka Kimaru and Justice Wakiaga. He, therefore, wants them charged with contempt of court.
The controversial lawyer also pointed out how he was abducted and detained in an inhumane manner and held at Githunguri Police Station for six days under harsh conditions. This, he maintains, breached his legal constitutional rights.
He was, thereafter, deported to Candana on February 6, 2018, before making a return on March 24 and treating the country a 72-hour standoff with the State at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
