Migori Governor Okoth Obado spent up to seven hours at the Nyanza regional police headquarters offices being grilled by detectives probing the murder of Rongo University student Sharon Otieno.
Obado presented himself to the sleuths after he was summoned.
It was not immediately clear why the county boss took that long at the offices but sources said one of the things that were happening was taking his DNA samples.
Investigators are trying to establish if there is anything that links him to the brutal murder of the university girl who was seven months pregnant.
She was stabbed eight times which a post-mortem said was the cause of her death after massive bleeding.
Her unborn baby was also stabbed and killed.
Contrary to the governor’s arrival, where he reported at the offices with his white Land Cruiser V8 SUV, after the grilling, he was whisked away by police vehicles.
