Should Deputy President William Ruto succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022, other tribes will mistake Kalenjin community for thieves and grabbers, Alfred Keter has said.
The second term lawmaker, while speaking with the DP on phone, reportedly dismissed the DP’s chances adding that he will traverse the nation and warn Kenyans against electing him.
“They have taken us for a ride. They are now stealing from us for a ride. Recently I asked him because he called me saying I have started intimidating his 2022 presidential ambitions.
“I told him my prayer is for you not to be president, because if you become one, other Kenyan tribes will hate Kalenjins saying we are thieves. I will go around warning Kenyans against him,” said the MP on Saturday.
From the vast Rift Valley region, Keter has been a persistent critic of the DP, often picking war with those closely associated with him.
Early think month, he managed to overturn an election petition at Appeals Court after having his victory nullified by High Court in March.
