He was on Monday morning confirmed dead while at Mombasa Premier Nyali Hospital, after a short illness. 

Reports said he on Friday collapsed at his home and broke his collarbone was rushed to the hospital where he has been receiving treatment until his death four days later as reported by the Daily Nation.

Malindi DCIO Anthony Sunguti confirmed the death of his colleague saying a postmortem will be conducted and detailed report will be issued later. 

Kenyans have sent their condolence messages through social media.
