By Tuesday, petroleum dealers had effected the new prices causing heated debate among Kenyans.

"We gave people an option but they defiantly abused Raila and even installated Uhuru as their president.

"It is funny that Jubilee supporters now want Raila to speak. Let us now feel the pinch and no one should cry to Raila," said Timothy Bosire, the ODM treasurer.

Party lawyer Tony Moturi accused Uhuru of misusing Kenyans adding that those who elected him deserve to go through the pain.

"We should not complain of the VAT. Let us deal with the situation as it is. Those who voted the regime must now feel it so that next time they behave," he said.

Earlier on Tuesday, Raila promised to tackle the matter with the president as Kenyans from all parts openly protested fuel prices increase.

Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich is under pressure to resign as MPs have a 72-hour ultimatum before taking actions.

Youth leader Dennis Marube said Uhuru had given his followers a raw deal.

"They should not ask Raila to speak on their behalf. Instead, let them protest to Uhuru for giving them a raw deal," he said.
