Citizen TV anchor Jacque Maribe's relationship with her fiance Joseph Irungu was rocky and messy, her neighbour Brain Kassaine has admitted.
The the love birds are locked in different police stations after being linked directly to Monica Kimani's murder.
And Mr. Kassaine, who is also locked, said he had borrowed Mr. Irungu his pistol on September 11 to assist him in 'training'.
On September 21, he told the police, he had knocks at his door in Lang'ata and when they persisted, he suspected that it could be Irungu or Maribe since the couple always sought refuge in his house after confrontation.
Upon opening, he added, he found Irungu on the ground bleeding profusely. He told him that they had fought with Maribe and resolved to shoot himself.
While at the ground, Kassaine said, Irungu also said Maribe had thrown his clothes out of their house after a slight fight, adding that he had decided to commit suicide.
After sometime, Mr. Kassaine picked his pistol and kept it on the ceiling where it was recovered by the police, before rushing Irungu to various hospitals among them Kijabe Mission.
Earlier, evidence given by close friends indicated that the couple had a brawl at a joint in Kilimani before driving home.
Mr. Irungu is accused of murdering Ms. Monica at Kilimani on September 19th before committing suicide at his house.
Police have traced his phone data to the deceased house and have since taken Maribe's car for forensic testing to ascertain people around the murder scene during the fateful day.
