Dagoreti South MP John Kiarie on Friday excited the congregation that converged at Kibabii University during the State Concert attended by Deputy President William Ruto.
The MP excited the congregation when he revealed that Kenya's first President Mzee Jomo Kenyatta was actually an actor in a movie titled, Sanders of Rivers.
"From performing arts, you can end up occupying any office in the land and anywhere in the world. I would like you to know that the first President of Kenya was actually an actor. He was in a movie called: Sanders of Rivers," he said amid cheers from the crowd.
He, however, challenged the young thespians to make the best out of their talents.
"President Reagan was an actor. President Obama was an actor in college. Desmond Eliot who you are watching on Nollywood is actually now a member of parliament in Nigeria," he underscored.
The legislator who is also an actor recognised Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala for being playing a major role in Kenya's film scene.
This year's National Drama and Film Festival witnessed stiff competition and talents being showcased.
