Slay kings are the popular breed of men that evolved after the emergence of slay queens.
Nairobi slay kings usually have certain habits that make it easy to identify them.
Ladies, are you dating a slay king? Read on to find out:
1.Obsessed with selfies
He will upload photos of himself on social media after every two seconds, more often with funny poses.
He will either do the duck face, have one of his eyebrows lifted, have his hand on his beard or he will do the one leg bend pose if it's a full photo.
Most of the time, you will realise it's women who comment on these photos.
If you equally like photos and the man you are dating takes more photos than you, sister, you're dating a slay king.
2.Can't do without social media
Their lives revolve around social media, especially Instagram and Snapchat.
They live by the popular mantra, 'if you didn't snap it, it didn't happen'.
They religiously post on what they are doing, who they are hanging out with, the shoes they are wearing, where they are spending their day, what they are drinking(especially if it's Hennessy)...basically everything.
3. They overdress
Catch them dead toning it down when it comes to dressing.
A proper slay king will wear skinny pants, T-shirt, camo jacket, Gucci sneakers (most of the time not the real Gucci), a baseball cap, a bandanna tied around his head, stunners, a million jewellery on his neck, studs, nose ring and a fanny pack tied around his waist.
They also tend to moisturise their lips and always use their perfumes and cologne on a hundred, where the scent arrives first, then the person.
4. They go for manicure, pedicure and facials
Slay Kings are obsessed with themselves. They always ensure their nails are filed, their feet are scrubbed, their faces steamed because unkempt nails and pimples freak them out.
Some have their eyebrows shaped.
5. They're smooth with words
They are not only slay kings, but also kings of hitting on girls with corny pickup lines.
They also use funny lingo like ''moskis'' to mean mosquitoes, ''moti'' to mean a car and ''L.A'' when referring to Langata estate.
